Hebrew at the Center

Hebrew at the Center aims to revolutionize the effectiveness of teaching and learning Hebrew in all educational settings, worldwide.

Hebrew at the Center (HATC) is dedicated to revolutionizing Hebrew teaching and learning.  HATC engages institutions and professionals worldwide with the goal of advancing excellence in Hebrew teaching and learning.  Our vision is a world where Hebrew is vibrant, celebrated, and pivotal to a thriving Jewish identity and the global Jewish community.

Providing pedagogic and assessment tools, HATC works to educate school leadership, develop Hebrew language leadership and empower teachers with the tools and expertise to maximize each student’s success.

HATC offers a series of 8 one hour webinars and 8 hours Independent Study, as well as a six year training program with a mentor and site visits. During HATC webinars, teachers explore how the integration of technology in second language instruction maximizes the effectiveness of Hebrew classes and promotes communicative performance of the learner.  HATC courses are for Modern Hebrew teachers who want to learn how to integrate technology and the Proficiency Approach into their instruction. No prior knowledge of the Proficiency Approach or of educational technology is required for participation.
